CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER - Money Talks 1987

I remember when my best Friend and I listen to their first album Convicted we were completely blown away, such fast music we knew only from Septic Death, D.R.I., Raw Power & MDC but that was Hardcore and at that time we broke with Metal and became Punx and Cryptic Slaughter mixed both genres into one big whole and on the second album they drove the pace back a little, nevertheless famos! Info: The band was formed 1984 by Les Evans (age 17), Scott Peterson (age 14) and Adam Scott (age 15), who met through their mutual participation in the American Youth Soccer League (AYSO). Soon they were joined by Bill Crooks (age 15), a friend of Adam Scott and a fellow soccer player. Adam Scott was let go a few months later due to conflicts regarding his parents and school. Their first demo, Life in Grave, was produced in 1985 and became well circulated in the burgeoning tape-trader underground. Their first full-length LP, Convicted, was released in 1986 on Death/Metal Blade records, whose artist roster also boasted D.R.I., Corrosion Of Conformity, the Mentors and Beyond Possession. Within its first year of release, Convicted sold over 25,000 copies and earned Cryptic Slaughter the reputation as being one of the fastest bands in hardcore. Next came Money Talks in 1987, which is still considered by many to be the band's best effort. Mixing crushing grooves with lightning speed, Money Talks surpassed Convicted's success by selling 35.000 in its first year and by earning Cryptic Slaughter a fanatical following around the world. They took on the right-wing theocracy directly, with songs like "Freedom Of Expression" that skewered the censorial nature of the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), founded by Al Gore's wife Tipper. Their "American Heroes" directly confronted the mass media heroic mythology of the astronauts who died in the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger, when millions toil to survive daily in a world of injustice. Along with D.R.I. they were at the forefront of a musical genre known as much for its relentless energy as its radical anti-authoritarian politics, even if not all the listeners paid attention.

The original line-up recorded their final studio album, Stream Of Consciousness, in 1988. Unhappy with the recording process and the album's production, the band's internal problems were magnified by life on the road. They broke up in the summer on tour before Stream was released later that fall, they played their last show in Detroit on July 14, 1988.

Shortly after returning home, however, guitarist Les Evans and bassist Rob Nicholson recruited new member Eli Nelson and continued on in a new direction. This new incarnation was short-lived, however, and Evans moved to Portland in May 1989 to reform the band with an entirely new line-up, which included Brian Lehfeldt of Wehrmacht fame. The final Cryptic Slaughter album, Speak Your Peace, was a definite departure from the previous material, heavily influenced by a changing music scene.

The band are often credited as one of the progenitors of crossover, the thrash metal and hardcore crossover genre, along with such seminal acts as D.R.I., Corrosion of Conformity and Suicidal Tendencies. In 2003, Relapse Records reissued Convicted and Money Talks with added bonus tracks from Cryptic Slaughter's demo and live recordings. Due to legal reasons, the band changed their name to Lowlife and will be touring and playing CS songs.

And now I have to go to the birthday party of a dear friend!

V/A - Killed By Sunshine 2019

Part VI of my small serie 'Rare German Underground', this time with stuff from the Eighties, taken again from rare Demos, Singles & Albums and first of all, my sincere thanks! to Reinhard which gave me this cute part brimming with rare German underground 1981-1989 for my little series available and thus you and me a little joy. The title came to mind when I was busy with a Killed By Death compilation and had already finished the cover, but now I find its a little stupid, I had other ideas but since I don't write anything down I've forgotten, no matter, the artwork pleases and you can see my first Iro at the tender age of, well ... I believe a year. As always your opinion interests me and I am grateful for many comments. The next part will come and until then I wish you a pleasant listening hereby.

ALLER VÆRSTE! - Materialtretthet 1980

Half-time in Hoffenheim and the fuckin' FCB leads with two goals, it seems the chief floor has stabilized. Well, let's come to the Aller Værste!, a Norwegian new wave/ska band from Bergen of the early 80's, which started out as a hobby project by four members of long-forgotten group Johnny Banan Band, members were Chris Erichsen (vocals/guitar), Ketil Kern (drums), Sverre Knudsen (bass/organ), Lasse Myrvold (vocals/guitar/organ) and Harald Øhrn (bass/vocals/organ). Apparently big with John Peel at the time, their debut Materialtretthet on Den Gode Hensikt won a Spellemannspris (Norwegian grammy) in 1980. The group disbanded after their second record, Disniland I De Tusen Hjem. Not easy to describe their sound because typical Ska sounds different but remarkable is the fiepsende organ that reminds me of the DoorsTAV! was part of the punk boom without playing punk. They kept going for a two-year period and released two albums - yet they have an indisputable and central place in Norwegian rock's history and development over the past twenty-five years. Also on numerous compilations and one plus an EP (listen) are in this theatre, meanwhile 1:2.

windows-vs-linux

Windows or Linux – Which one the best? My Personal Experience

In this article, I will discuss windows vs. linux operating system. And you should also share why we should use Linux.

I have been using Linux for almost one years.

Although Linux has some limitations, its performance is great. With its powerful security system I did not get a virus attack in Linux Apart from Linux, I'm also using Windows 7. I use Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows 7. I was attacked twice in Windows 7 by the virus. Therefore, with my experience, I want to share some advice for Windows and Linux users.

Windows or Linux – Which one the best? My Personal Experience

linux pros and cons
windows vs linux

For Windows users:

The pirated windows are the main culprit. It has the lowest security system which causes various virus attacks. Therefore, if you need to use Windows, then use the genuine version of Windows.

Microsoft's security was resisted to the virus when they attacked, but it never took action before the virus attack. Because of keeping this application light. Therefore, if you see that the PC has a virus, but security is not necessary, then no action will be taken. But if you have any doubts, then my advice is to use Avast antivirus to take action against that virus.

Use Firewall: Enable Windows Firewall from Control Panel. The firewall will confirm that your apps can not access the Internet without your permission.

Internet Explorer offers several options for your windows. This is a major type of security risk and is the best way to detect virus infection. Therefore, update your Internet Explorer to the latest version or if possible use another browser.

Before using any software, make sure that it is a trusted company software. Do not use it without software information. If you want to know about any software, just go to google.com/search and type the name of the software. This will give you detailed information about that software.

For Linux users:

Linux needs security! After hearing this, you can think that I am joking with you. But seriously, except for the Linux virus attack. It can also be attacked by a virus. Linux malware is now targeted to the server because Linux is not very popular on the desktop. But when Linux is becoming more popular, then the virus will come to the desktop. So, now Linux users should be careful.

Linux secures the most power in its online repository Their software has been tested and there is no risk to use. Therefore, as far as possible, use the application from the store. Most of us use applications from third party repos. We must first know about that repo first.

Getting root permissions of Linux is very easy, just add 'sudo' or 'easy gksu' before the command. Therefore, think better before giving root permission to third parties or applications that are not installed from the Linux Online repository. Linux's internal security system is not very well worried about it. Just be careful. But the security system has also increased the windows. Windows 7 is much safer than Windows XP. After all, users need awareness for safety well.

Now the question is why should you use Linux? Okay, for better understanding why you should use Linux, install Linux Destro and do some development work, then the same thing happens with windows. Hope you get accurate proofs and good understanding. Now lets read some Linux features.

Linux facility

1. Linux is primarily a UNIX based system. Linux is not UNIX, but like Unix. If you use a Unix based system, you will have some opportunity / feature on software development work, but there are many difficulties in getting this feature in the Windows operating system. Just read it on Google to find out more about it.

2. The world's most dangerous virus was written for windows, this is the reason that the virus attacks the windows. The Windows program does not work in Linux, so that the virus can not attack it. So, you can use Linux without worrying about viruses or antivirus.

3. Linux is a very lightweight system. If you use a Pentium four processor and 512 MB RAM or other low-end RAM, then it should be useful. So, in a simple word, Linux is free, safe, free of a virus that is promoting or marketing. But if you want you can use Linux, you can break all Linux parts and research each part. Almost you can learn about the operating system.

Conclusion

After all, most of us use windows that are free. Because the paid version of windows requires money. Therefore, when we are using free windows, we prefer to be a thief! Linux is free and open source. So, anyone in Linux can contribute with you. Linux has the same features as those in Windows. In addition, there is no virus in Linux. Therefore, I always suggest that you work with Linux to get better performance from Windows.
