Poco has recently launched its first device i.e Poco F1. The sale took place on 29 August and the company makes the record breaking profit of it. The company said that they had sold over Rs. 200 crore worth of smartphones in just couple minutes (5 minutes) . According to the company, they had made the biggest and fastest flagship sale ever. For your information, the poco is the sub-brand of Xiaomi and this is the first smartphone of Poco series.

•The company has try to provide the best features in the affordable price to its costumers. The device comes with powerpacked features like 6.18 inch full HD+ 2.5D curved glass with a notch that makes user experience more elegent. The device is powered by Snapdragon 845 with liquidcool technology. The company has provided 12 megapixels + 5 megapixels rear camera with flash and for selfies 20 megapixels front camera with some cool AI effective features. The device support dual 4G LTE as with 4G+ also. With 4000 mAh battery it will never run out of time like you, and it also 3.0 fast charging for the time saver's one. The phone operates on android Oreo with MIUI. The device is available in two colours, graphite black and steel blue.

•Other attractive features are also provided by the company like IR face unlock that can unlock the device within 0.4 seconds, and the last but not the least - Fingerprint reader- in now times, the phone is incomplete without the such feature.

•The company has not yet revealed the number of devices sold. The has also provided many offers to their costumers, the cardholders of HDFC Bank will get the Rs. 1000/- off

Install the Windows Subsystem for Linux on Windows 10

Enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux
   Before installing any Linux distros for WSL, you must ensure that the "Windows Subsystem for Linux" optional feature is enabled:
      Open PowerShell as Administrator and run:
      Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux

   Restart your computer when prompted.

Install your Linux Distribution for Windows Subsystem
   To download and install your preferred distro(s), you have three choices:
    * Download and install from the Windows Store (see below)
    * Download and install from the Command-Line/Script (read the manual installation instructions)
    * Download and manually unpack and install (for Windows Server - instructions here)

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and later: Install Linux distros from the Microsoft Store

This section is for Windows build 16215 or later. Follow these steps to check your build. For earlier versions of Windows 10, follow these instructions using lxrun.

1, Open the Microsoft Store and choose your favorite Linux distribution.

   The following links will open the Windows store page for each distribution:
    * Ubuntu
    * OpenSUSE
    * SLES
    * Kali Linux and Debian GNU/Linux

2, From the distro's page, select "Get"

Complete initialization of your distro on Windows Subsystem
   Now that your Linux distro is installed, you must initialize your new distro instance once, before it can be used.

Troubleshooting Windows Subsystem:
   Below are related errors and suggested fixes. Refer to the WSL troubleshooting page for other common errors and their solutions.

   Installation failed with error 0x80070003
    * The Windows Subsystem for Linux only runs on your system drive (usually this is your C: drive). Make sure that distros are stored on your system drive:
    * Open Settings -> Storage -> More Storage Settings: Change where new content is saved

Manually download Windows Subsystem for Linux Distro packages

There are several scenarios in which you may not be able (or want) to, install WSL Linux distros via the Windows Store. Specifically, you may be running a Windows Server or Long-Term Servicing (LTSB/LTSC) desktop OS SKU that doesn't support Windows Store, or your corporate network policies and/or admins to not permit Windows Store usage in your environment.

In these cases, while WSL itself is available, how do you download and install Linux distros in WSL if you can't access the store?

Note:

Command-Line shell environments including CMD, PowerShell, and Linux/WSL distros are not permitted to run on Windows 10 S Mode. This restriction exists in order to ensure the integrity and safety goals that S Mode delivers: Read this post for more information.

Downloading distros for Windows Subsystem
   If the Windows Store app is not available, you can download and manually install Linux distros by clicking these links:
    * Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 18.04 ARM
    * Ubuntu 16.04
    * Debian GNU/Linux
    * Kali Linux
    * OpenSUSE
    * SLES

   This will cause the <distro>.appx packages to download to a folder of your choosing. Follow the installation instructions to install your downloaded distro(s).

Downloading distros via the Command-Line for Windows Subsystem
   If you prefer, you can also download your preferred distro(s) via the Command-Line:

   Download using PowerShell
      To download distros using PowerShell, use the Invoke-WebRequest cmdlet. Here's a sample instruction to download Ubuntu 16.04.
      Enter this following command:
      Invoke-WebRequest -Uri https://aka.ms/wsl-ubuntu-1604 -OutFile Ubuntu.appx -UseBasicParsing

      Tip:

If the download is taking a long time, turn off the progress bar by setting $ProgressPreference = 'SilentlyContinue'

   Download using curl
      Windows 10 Spring 2018 Update (or later) includes the popular curl command-line utility with which you can invoke web requests (i.e. HTTP GET, POST, PUT, etc. commands) from the command-line. You can use curl.exe to download the above distro's. Oen Command Prompt and enter this command:
      curl.exe -L -o ubuntu-1604.appx https://aka.ms/wsl-ubuntu-1604

      In the above example, curl.exe is executed (not just curl) to ensure that, in PowerShell, the real curl executable is invoked, not the PowerShell curl alias for Invoke-WebRequest.

      Note: Using curl might be preferable if you have to invoke/script download steps using Cmd shell and/or .bat / .cmd scripts.

Installing your distro for Windows Subsystem

Kali Linux 2018.3 Released

Another edition of Hacker Summer Camp has come and gone. Kali Linux Team had a great time meeting our users, new and old, particularly at our Black Hat and DEF CON Dojos, which were led by our great friend @ihackstuff and the rest of the Offensive Security crew. Now that everyone is back home, it’s time for their third Kali release of 2018, which is available for immediate download.

Kali 2018.3 brings the kernel up to version 4.17.0 and while 4.17.0 did not introduce many changes, 4.16.0 had a huge number of additions and improvements including more Spectre and Meltdown fixes, improved power management, and better GPU support.

New Tools and Tool Upgrades on Kali Linux 2018.3
   Since Kali last release, Kali Team have added a number of new tools to the repositories, including:
    * idb – An iOS research / penetration testing tool
    * gdb-peda – Python Exploit Development Assistance for GDB
    * datasploit – OSINT Framework to perform various recon techniques
    * kerberoast – Kerberos assessment tools

   In addition to these new packages, we have also upgraded a number of tools in our repos including aircrack-ng, burpsuite, openvas, wifite, and wpscan.

Download Kali Linux 2018.3
   If you would like to check out this latest and greatest Kali release, you can find download links for ISOs and Torrents on the Kali Downloads page along with links to the Offensive Security virtual machine and ARM images, which have also been updated to 2018.3. If you already have a Kali installation you’re happy with, you can easily upgrade by this following command:
      apt update && apt -y full-upgrade

Making sure your Kali Linux are up-to-date
   To double check your version, first make sure your Kali package repositories are correct.
      root@kali:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
      deb https://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib

   Then after running apt -y full-upgrade, you may require a reboot before checking:
      root@kali:~# grep VERSION /etc/os-release
      VERSION="2018.3"
      VERSION_ID="2018.3"

If you come across any bugs in Kali Linux, please open a report on their bug tracker. It’s more than a little challenging to fix what Kali Team don’t know about.
